![]() School Library Journal In this companion to I Love You, Stinky Face (BridgeWater, 1997), a little boy has some new queries for his mother. Speaking to her by telephone, he wonders when she is coming home and asks a series of questions starting with "...what if the airplane forgets how to fly?" His mother responds to each worry with a Runaway Bunny-like solution, pledging to "...hop in the basket of a hot-air balloon," "...find the speediest shark in the ocean," or "...hitch a ride on...[a] supersonic spaceship..."all in an effort to get back to her son. Moore's detailed, full-color drawings include such exotic locales as a lush jungle, a medieval castle, and the gangplank of a pirate ship. The amusing illustrations in muted, dreamy shades spill out over the pages, reflecting the free associations of the text. Although the formula is familiar, the message is reassuring and could be used to prepare children for times when a parent is away from home. --Linda Ludke, London Public Library, Ontario, Canada Copyright 1999 Cahners Business Information. ![]() Buy
